A wireless paging system designed specifically for the hotel services industry and targeted for outdoors use. We were contracted to develop the plastic enclosures for the actual paging device and the systems enclosures. All system circuit boards were design by Core Source. Once the design was complete, we managed the New Product Introduction (NPI) in to a high volume production CM. In the NPI phase, we released and managed all engineering documentation, test fixtures and change notices.
Results and Project Value
We met an aggressive schedule and provided system and user interface devices that could operate in extreme conditions. We were able to meet the target pricing for the system components by conducting DFMA reviews and incorporating the cost reduction elements into the product. Costs were reduced by 12% after the initial prototype units were completed. Manufacturing and assembly times were reduced by 20% overall.
